Who we are and what this policy covers

Certified Laser Scanning Inc (“Certified Laser Scanning,” “we,” “us” or “our”) operates certifiedlaserscanning.com. We are the business responsible for personal information collected through this website. Our contact details appear in the Privacy contact section.

This policy covers visits to the website and inquiries about business, projects and equipment rental. We serve architecture, engineering, construction, industrial and facility teams.

Client-site scans, images, drawings and models also follow the relevant project agreement and confidentiality terms. A project-specific privacy notice may apply too. Third-party websites have their own policies.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Identity and business contact information: name, company, email address, telephone number, professional affiliation and preferred contact method.
• Inquiry and project information: project region or location, requested service, equipment need, requested dates, project type, approximate scope, desired deliverable, schedule, message, project description and any additional notes you choose to provide.
• Communications and request records: subsequent email or telephone correspondence, proposal-related information and information needed to verify and answer a privacy request.

We receive this information from you or someone acting for your organization. Please share only information you are authorized to provide.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting and security providers process limited technical data when your browser requests a page. This may include your IP address, the date and time, the requested URL and the referring page. It may also include browser and device details, user-agent data and approximate network location. Response status, performance and security signals may be processed too.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile on inquiry forms. Turnstile may process browser and interaction signals needed to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated abuse; it does not receive the contents of our inquiry fields.

Information we do not request

The forms do not accept files, payments or account registrations. Please omit sensitive personal information and confidential or export-controlled project materials. Arrange an appropriate transfer method with us if a project requires them.

Submitting an inquiry is voluntary. The law does not require you to do so. We mark required fields because we need those details to identify and answer your request. You may leave optional fields blank. Without the required details, we may be unable to assess or answer the inquiry.

Purposes and legal bases

We use personal data only for the purposes below. Each entry also states the legal basis where the GDPR, UK GDPR or a similar law applies.

• Respond to inquiries and prepare requested proposals: our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering business contacts and preparing proposals for their organizations. If you seek services in your own capacity, we use the data as needed to take the steps you request before entering a contract.
• Plan and administer an engagement: our legal basis is our legitimate interest in managing customer relationships and coordinating agreed services with business contacts. If you are personally a party to the contract, we use the data as needed to perform it.
• Operate, secure and improve the website: for our legitimate interests in reliable site delivery, fraud prevention, troubleshooting and protection against spam or abuse.
• Comply with law and protect legitimate interests: to meet applicable legal obligations and for our legitimate interest in establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.
• Understand website performance: measure traffic, contact-link clicks and form activity, based on consent where required and our legitimate interest in improving the website elsewhere, subject to the choices described below.
• Provide an interactive location map: based on consent where required, and otherwise our legitimate interest in making our business location accessible, subject to the choices described below.

You can submit an inquiry without allowing Analytics or Maps. Sending a request does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not use inquiry information for unrelated marketing or make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Cookies and site services

Ahrefs Web Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to measure aggregated page views, referrals and common website interactions. Ahrefs processes page URLs, browser and device information, language and approximate location. According to Ahrefs, its default tracker uses no cookies or persistent identifiers, discards raw IP addresses and does not track people across websites or devices.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages visitors use and how they reach the site. We measure clicks on phone and email links. We also measure whether visitors start, attempt or successfully submit an inquiry, along with broad types of submission errors.

Google receives page paths and titles, referring page paths, device and browser details, approximate location and cookie identifiers. Our tracking removes URL query strings and fragments. It does not send inquiry contents, names, email addresses, telephone numbers or project details.

Contact clicks record where the link appears on the page. They do not record its destination or email subject. Form events record the inquiry category: project, rental or corporate. Error events also record the stage that failed. A phone or email click does not prove that a call was completed or an email was sent.

Analytics loads after the page has loaded. In Canada, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, it stays off until you allow it. The same rule applies when we cannot determine your region. Elsewhere, it starts automatically when browser storage is available, unless you have rejected it. Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track keeps Analytics off.

Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to change your Analytics and Maps selections independently. Closing the notice does not grant consent. When browser storage is available, choices are saved in this browser for up to 180 days.

Withdrawing Analytics stops future measurement and removes its first-party cookies. It does not undo processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

Google provides this measurement under its Privacy Policy. We disable Google signals and advertising personalization. We do not use advertising pixels or create advertising profiles from website visits.

Cloudflare delivery, security and Turnstile

Cloudflare delivers and protects the website. It routes form email and provides Turnstile to prevent abuse. Cloudflare may use cookies, local storage or similar tools when strictly necessary to deliver requested pages, maintain security or complete a Turnstile check. We use the resulting operational data for security, reliability and troubleshooting. We do not use it for advertising. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy and Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Google Maps

The contact page provides our address as ordinary text and a direct link to our Google Business Profile. Displaying the text and link does not contact Google. If you select the profile link, your browser navigates to Google at your request. The embedded map is not requested until its reserved area comes into view.

For visitors outside the consent region, the map loads automatically at that point when browser storage is available and Maps has not been rejected. In Canada, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the map stays blocked until you allow Google Maps in the privacy choices. The same rule applies when we cannot determine the edge location.

If the map loads, your browser connects directly to Google. Google may receive your IP address, browser or device details, the request time and the referring site. It may use cookies or similar tools under Google's Privacy Policy. Rejecting the optional service does not restrict the website, written address, telephone link or inquiry form. Use “Privacy choices” in the footer to withdraw or change your selection.

If your browser prevents preference storage, optional Analytics and Maps stay off by default. You can enable either service through “Privacy choices”, but you may need to repeat your selection after reloading or returning to the website.

Browser privacy signals

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, or use behavioral advertising trackers. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track keep Google Analytics off. Your Google Maps choice controls the optional map independently of those browser signals. Operational security and information you choose to submit continue to be processed as described here.

When we disclose information

We disclose personal data only as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy:

• Website and communications providers: Cloudflare for site delivery, security and form-email routing; Google Workspace for business email; and Google for the optional Analytics and Maps services described above.
• Professional and legal purposes: advisers, insurers, auditors, courts, regulators or authorities when reasonably necessary to obtain advice, protect rights, comply with law or respond to valid legal process.
• Business transfers: a successor or adviser if the business is sold or reorganized, subject to applicable privacy and confidentiality requirements.
• Search-performance analysis: we authorize Semrush to read connected Google Search Console and Analytics reports to assess website performance.
• Website-related correspondence: the Semrush Backlink Tools integration has permission to read messages, contact details and settings in the connected business mailbox and to send email at our direction. Inquiry contents are not sent to Google Analytics.

We do not sell personal information, disclose it for third parties' own direct marketing, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, or offer financial incentives for personal information.

International transfers

Certified Laser Scanning is established in Florida, United States. If you visit from Canada, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or another country, the data you submit is transferred to the United States. It is processed there. Cloudflare and other service providers may also process technical or business data in the countries where they operate.

Privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Local authorities may have lawful access. Our providers publish data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. These include standard contractual clauses where applicable: Cloudflare, Google Analytics, Google Workspace and Semrush. Contact us to ask which safeguards apply to your data.

How long we keep information

Website inquiries are delivered to our business email environment, rather than stored in a website application database. We keep personal data for the purposes described here. We use these criteria:

• Inquiries and correspondence: the time needed to respond, discuss the request and maintain relevant business records, taking account of the last communication and any ongoing relationship.
• Customer and project records: the engagement and any further period needed for contractual, tax, insurance, recordkeeping or legal-claim requirements.
• Privacy-request records: the time needed to resolve the request and demonstrate compliance with applicable obligations.
• Google Analytics user and event data: two months, without resetting the retention period on new activity. This limit does not apply to standard aggregated reports. Browser preference records and Analytics cookies expire after at most 180 days.
• Security, delivery and diagnostic data: for the shortest period reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and provider operations, according to the relevant provider settings and legal obligations.

Once data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it so that it can no longer identify a person.

How we protect information

The website uses encrypted HTTPS connections and checks form submissions for validity and size. It also uses abuse prevention and controlled delivery to our business email. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. Use the forms for initial project discussions. Arrange a separate method with us for sensitive project materials.

Your privacy rights

Your rights depend on where you live and the law that applies. You may be able to access or confirm the personal data we hold and obtain a portable copy. You may be able to correct or delete data, restrict or object to processing, and appeal a refusal.

Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time for future processing. You may also have the right to opt out of sale, targeted advertising or certain profiling. We do not engage in those activities through this website.

To exercise a right, contact us using the methods below. Describe your request and the inquiry or communication involved. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

We may ask for details reasonably necessary to verify your identity, find records or confirm an agent's authority. Applicable exceptions may permit or require us to keep data. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising an applicable privacy right.

United States

Residents of states with applicable consumer privacy laws may exercise the rights those laws provide. During the preceding 12 months, the website has collected the categories described above. These include identifiers, business contact details, professional or employment-related information, and commercial and inquiry information. They also include internet or other electronic network activity and approximate location inferred from an IP address. This policy describes where we collect those categories, why we use them, who receives them and how long we keep them.

For California residents, we do not sell or share personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right to limit. We do not give personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing use. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law.

Canada

Where Canadian private-sector privacy law applies, you may request access to and correction of your personal data. You may withdraw consent where processing depends on it and challenge our compliance.

Submit an access request in writing to our Privacy Coordinator. We will respond within the legally required period. This includes 30 days where the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act applies, subject to permitted extensions and exceptions. You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the applicable provincial privacy authority.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent at any time for future processing based on consent.

You may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority where you live or work. Contact the relevant EEA supervisory authority, the UK Information Commissioner or the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. Applicable GDPR requests receive a response within one month, subject to permitted extensions. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Children's privacy

This business website is for professional audiences. It is not directed to children. We do not knowingly request or collect personal data from children under 13. Nor do we knowingly request or collect it from other minors who cannot lawfully provide it. If we learn that a child provided personal data through the website, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Policy changes

We may update this policy when the website, our data practices, service providers or legal duties change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we use previously collected personal data, we will provide any additional notice or choice required by law.
